Running dimension 8200 with XP. Whenever I try to burn audio to a CD using HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8160B, the output is muffled and filled with static. This happens with Roxio as well as RealPlayer. People have always told me that I should burn audio at the lowest possible speed, preferably 1x, but the lowest recording speed on this pos is 4x. Is there any way to burn audio with this CD-RW?

Hi Lawson, Currently it does not look as though Dell has an updated firmware for this drive, if you purchased the drive through Dell, you must use their firmware to maintain the warranty.
