I have Grundig 40 VLE 6730 BP. It uses TV 4 operating system (not Android). I also have an Android phone. I have signed up for HBO Go and Netflix. None of those apps support screen casting, unless I have Chromecast hardware (which I don't). My TV has this 'Screen Share' support, and it says: 'LiveShare streams full HD or online contents from a mobile device to the TV wireless.' But when I select that option on the TV, it says: 'To start, turn on Screen Share on your computer'.

There is no speciffic app for the phone for that. I have tried many apps from Play Store, and none of them maganed to connect to the TV. Well, once I did connect, but it was just black screen on the TV. Other times, app says it is connected, by TV says it is not. There is no Grundig support in Serbia, and there is no way to contact them, because I need to provide a receipt from that speciffic country. Can you please help me?

What app can I use to cast videos from my phone to TV? Not videos from the phone memmory, but from the streaming apps (HBO Go and Netflix). So, I just want an app that will mirror the screen from the phone to the TV. It does not have to be free app. Unfortunately there seems to be a phobia among manufacturers for using the technical name for things, so instead of having a common protocol name that we can check for support for, we end up with all sorts of confusing nonsense terms like Screen Share.

When you cast with youtube is your TV in cast mode (i.e. Solely controlled by your phone) or does it launch TV's youtube app? If it's launching the youtube app then that's a different function, often known as DIAL.

It may work with other apps that have versions both on the TV and on the phone but won't allow you to do general screen mirroring. I believe at least some implementation of the Netflix app support this. Looking through the Arcilek apps on the play store I don't see anything obvious for screen mirroring, there's no mention of it in the grundig TV app:. So I would suspect it's probably an implementation of Miracast which is the most common protocol.
